Axis Bank and BITS Pilani have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Axis Bank–BITS Industry Research, Technology & Innovation Park at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus. It is backed by a ₹100 crore CSR grant from the bank. The initiative aims to strengthen India’s deep-tech, research and innovation ecosystem by fostering stronger industry-academia collaboration.
The proposed innovation park will focus on key sectors including life sciences, biopharma, healthcare and medical devices, with a mission to accelerate translational research and support the development of affordable healthcare solutions.

Spread across approximately 120,000 square feet, the facility will house advanced laboratories, incubation spaces and shared research infrastructure. The park is expected to support startups, MSMEs, researchers and academic innovators through collaborative projects, technology transfer initiatives and intellectual property (IP) management support.
BITS Pilani will oversee the governance and research agenda of the innovation park, while Axis Bank will support infrastructure development. The project is expected to leverage Hyderabad’s thriving life sciences ecosystem, including the renowned Genome Valley cluster, to accelerate commercialization of research and innovation.
The announcement comes as India witnesses growing investments in university-led research infrastructure and deep-tech innovation, aimed at strengthening the country’s lab-to-market pipeline and advancing the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India.
